One of my biggest pet hates is going out on New Year’s Eve. It’s expensive, overrated and you have great expectations of an amazing night that never seems to go according to plan. So when my friends down in London invited me to a 1920s themed NYE house party at their penthouse, I jumped at the opportunity and what a night it was!
Isn’t that the biggest bottle of Veuve Clicquot you have ever seen? That’s a jeroboam bottle and holds about 4 litres. If you thought a litre of that stuff is good, try 4 times that amount, it’s divine. P.S. – Drink responsibly!
As most parties go, we might have had a few too many bottles of champagne; which as we all know never ends well. I decided that I needed to redo my friend’s make up and she was more than happy to let me give it a shot. The end result was errrrrm….different. I don’t think I am ever going to be allowed to do her make up ever again (probably for the best)!
And we did watch the fireworks at some point in the night. I know we did only because I found this picture of the London skyline taken just as the fireworks went off at midnight.
I stayed with a friend in Wimbledon and I was convinced that we took a cab back home – I even spent 20 minutes trying to convince her that we did till I found this picture on my phone. Good old iPhone to the rescue. Turns out we did take the tube at 4am and even tried taking a detour to Infernos in Clapham! So glad we didn’t!
Safe to say, it was an amazing night. Meeting the gang is always fun and I cannot wait to see them again soon.
Happy New Year everybody! Hope you had a great night too.
