I have an amazing recipe for you today.
My super delicious, super simple Oreo Mud Slabs – perfect for when you just can’t be bothered baking a three tiered wedding cake! Only joking but this really is an easy recipe.
To whip out a batch of these Oreo Mud Slabs, you will need –
- 500 grams Oreo’s
- 180 grams Unsalted Butter
- 300 grams Milk Chocolate Chips
- 400 ml Sweetened Condensed Milk
That’s all you need. Told you this was simple.
Start by switching on the oven and turning up the heat to 180′ C. While your oven heats up, topple all 500 grams of that Oreo goodness in a large bowl.
And crush it with a wooden spoon. You could alternatively tip the Oreo’s in a plastic bag and hit it against the kitchen worktop, but breaking it up with a spoon is slightly more civilised. But if you do prefer something a bit more aggressive, by all means go all out. I am not judging you!
This recipe is all about convienence, so slide the butter into a microwave safe bowl and heat it till your butter melts. Feel free to heat it over the hob if you prefer that.
Once the butter has melted, pour it over the crushed Oreo’s and mix. The smell of hot melted butter combined with the chocolatey goodness of those Oreos is enough to lift up your mood. I absolutely love it.
Tip this Oreo mixture into a brownie tin and press it down using a spoon, or your hands if you are feeling adventurous. I normally use a potato masher – works just as well. Make sure you get all the air bubbles – you want a firm compact base for your topping or it might crumble once ready.
In a separate bowl, mix together all of the sweetened condensed milk and two thirds of the chocolate chips. Heat this mixture in the microwave till the chocolate chips melts into the condensed milk.
Pour this chocolate mixture on top of the Oreo base and spread making sure you have an even topping. Sprinkle the rest of the chocolate chips on top and you are almost done.
Bake this in the oven for about 10-15 mins and it’s ready!
Oreo Mud Slabs anyone? Ready in less than 20 minutes yet so freaking good – nobody would ever know.
The gooey chocolatey top and the rich Oreo base is a match made in heaven.
You are very welcome. Try it and let me know what you think.
