Sweet Jesus, I just found the best ice cream shop in the world and boy is it good!

If you follow me on Instagram (which you should definitely do btw!), you would know that Seb and I are in Toronto this week for Halloween. I am absolutely blown away by the bustling food scene that seems to have taken over Toronto over the last few years. I have been in a constant food coma the last few days and this amazing ice cream parlour called Sweet Jesus is partly to blame. Along with April, a friend of ours who introduced us to this little swirl of heaven on Earth.

How can ice cream cones put you in a food coma, I hear you ask? Scroll down and have a look for yourself – you will see what I mean!

Sweet Jesus Ice Cream Toronto

See what I mean? Does your local ice cream shop have a birthday cake cone that comes with real cake, rainbow sprinkles and a candle? Didn’t think so.

Sweet Jesus which opened a few weeks back, occupies a corner unit squished between Union Juice and La Carnita in the Entertainment District. It is owned by the same people behind Home Of The Brave and La Carnita (both local favourites in Toronto). For the past year, you could only get your hands on one of their epic creations on the dessert menu at La Carnita and Home Of The Brave but this stand alone ice cream shop is going to change all of that.

Opening at 7am daily, this place isn’t just a soft serve parlour, but it is also great for your daily dose of coffee. The ice creams are of course the main attraction, and whilst there are six soft serve flavours available, it’s the pimped out cones that you want to try. With options like Lemon Coconut Cream Pie (with with sour lemon curd and toasted coconut crumble) and Krusty The Cone (with cotton candy, ground sprinkles and cotton candy sauce), you are bound to want to come back every day.

If you live in Toronto or plan to visit this city, make sure that Sweet Jesus is on your list of places to try. Yes, it’s indulgent and you might need to hit the gym for a week afterwards but sweet Jesus, it’s worth it. I would also suggest checking out their Instagram account if you need any more convincing – it’s #foodporn at it’s very best.
